A limited number of DAAD EPOS Scholarships are available for the M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics at the University of Hohenheim, Germany. This is part of the “Development-Related Postgraduate Courses” (EPOS) initiative.
The DAAD EPOS scholarship aims to support outstanding candidates from developing countries with strong academic and professional backgrounds.
DAAD EPOS Scholarships: Comprehensive Benefits for Recipients
DAAD EPOS Scholarship recipients will have their tuition fees fully covered for the two-year Agricultural Economics Master’s program. In addition, the scholarship includes health insurance, a monthly living allowance, travel expenses to and from Germany, and research-related costs (visit the EPOS webpage for additional details). Additionally, the scholarship includes an intensive German language course, which runs from August to September at a German language center before the start of the Master’s program.
About the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The DAAD is a privately and federally funded, self-governing national agency representing 365 German higher education institutions, including universities, technical universities, and colleges of applied sciences, music, and art. While the DAAD does not offer its own study programs, it provides competitive, merit-based grants for study and research at accredited institutions in Germany. DAAD also funds scholarships for German students to study abroad.

DAAD EPOS Agricultural Economics Scholarships Selection Criteria

- Academic degrees should be no older than six years.
- Demonstrate development-related motivations and intentions.

M.Sc. Agricultural Economics Program Requirements
Candidates must also meet the following conditions to be eligible for the Master’s program:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field with above-average results.
- Official proof of English proficiency (e.g., IELTS band 6.5, TOEFL ibt 90).
- Evidence of undergraduate coursework in statistics and economics.
- Completion of the Ag Econ Pre-Test for self-evaluation.

- Signed and dated DAAD Application Form.
- Updated CV (Europass format), reverse chronological order, with the date of issue and no gaps.
- Motivation Letter (maximum 2 pages), with the date of issue.
- Employer Recommendation on official letterhead, with details on the position, referee contact information, and date.
- Certificates of Employment.
- Proof of English proficiency.
- Copies of Diplomas and Transcripts of Records (with certified English or German translations).
- University Entrance Qualification (UEQ) copies with certified translations (if not in English or German).
- Ranking Letter (if necessary to prove above-average academic performance).
- APS Certificate (for applicants from India, China, and Vietnam).
